Director & Choreographer
Alys Le Moignan-Williams
From school productions, joining AAODS, to completing a degree in Drama and Theatre Arts, I have always loved to immerse myself in the world of theatre. After completing my degree, I explored being in front of the camera creating comedy sketches with BBC Sesh and appearing in a BBC Wales comedy series ‘Backwashed’.
Alongside this, I became a teacher for tiny toes ballet, teaching little ones the joy of dance - a job I’m still enjoying today. I created my singing lessons, Time to Sing, in 2022 where I have been able to use my passion for singing and performing and turn it into my Time to Sing dream, passing on my love of theatre to others.
I have performed in numerous shows with AAODS, such as Sister Act, Cats and more recently The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I have also been choreographer for Juniors for the past two years.
However, my first show with this fantastic society was The Wizard of Oz back in 2011, and I am over the moon to be completing a full circle moment, directing the same show as my directorial debut with AAODS Juniors this year.
Meg Trinder
Musical Director
I was once AAODS’ youngest member joining for my first production ‘My Fair Lady’ in 2007, age 8. Since then I have enjoyed performing with the society every year until 2016 when I took a brief break to attend university.
Despite both my undergraduate and masters degrees being in Clinical Psychology and my current role as an Assistant Psychologist in Powys, music remains a huge part of my life. I was musical director for a number of productions in Worcester such as ‘Grease’ and ‘The Wedding Singer’, before returning home to Wales.
In 2022, I started a choir for survivors of domestic abuse through West Mercia Women’s Aid, and became the singing teacher for Stagecoach Performing Arts in Newport. I also set up my ‘Music with Meg’ sessions for those with memory diseases in the local community.
I’m lucky enough to have been Musical Director for AAODS Juniors since 2021. I’ve watched the children grow in confidence through our productions of ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘Elf the Musical’, and can’t wait to travel into the magical world of Oz for our next adventure together.
